Meet the MartNet Servers!

This is MERV, the Martnet sERVer, and Port Server Philadelphia 1, also known as netnews.martnet.com. Merv is a 486DX/120 with 48MB of RAM and six gigabytes of disk space. All home directories and user files, as well as the MartNet FTP Archives, reside on Merv. PSP1 is a 486DX/133 with 40MB of RAM and 5 gigabytes of disk space. It is the dial-in and new server. Currently, we cache about three days of news, and have support for up to 64 modems built in.

This is Merv's console. While a lot of administration is done from other machines on the local network, this console is where all the REAL action takes place. Since Merv is a PC running Linux, the console is a standard VGA monitor and PC keyboard. We could use a dedicated dumb terminal as a console, but why bother?
