Reagan Room!

(our little tribute to obsolescence)

Deep in the bowels of da Haus, hidden in the far corner of the basement, lies the Reagan Room, where old computers go to be brought back to life! The room currently houses a Commodore 64, Apple //e, Apple //gs, Apple ///, a Sun 3/50, several old ADDS VP-60 and Televideo TVI 925 Terminals, two IBM 5150's (retrofitted with 5 MB hard drives, a North Star Advantage CPM/PC, Atari 2600, 7800, and Intellivision game systems, a Timex Sinclair, some other PC's, an X-term, and a very large pile of spare parts. Most machines are connected to the house network via thin ethernet or serial lines connected to Swell, the dining room terminal server (which sits in the housenet thin ethernet backbone).

The North Star Advantage CPM machine is pretty nifty... although I think it dates back to the Carter era.

 Here's a picture of one of our junk piles. Stuff stays in the closet or piled high next to the wall until we either get around to fixing it, strip it for parts, or find a good home for it (for us to throw something in the trash, it has to be REALLY worthless.) Drop us a line if you're looking for hard to find parts. We just may have some sitting in the pile. A few lucky machines have the honor of being flung from the third floor roof and, if they survive, earn a place of honor in the back yard (plugged into the network, of course!)
