The NOC

Welcome to the NOC!

The NOC (Network Operations Center) is home to the machines that make up the business of MartNet. Wedged in a spare room on the third floor of da Haus (between Nik W and Devon's rooms) the NOC is an isolated, climate-controlled playground, the fruits of our labor so to speak. Please, sign up for a MartNet account if you don't already have one... we need to pay the bills! (and you do have an extra $12 a month to spare, right?)

This is MartNet. Housed in an old PDP-11 rack is Merv, the MartNet sERVer (home directories, web server, FTP server, etc), PSP-1 (the dial in server and news server), telecommunications equipment to connect us via T-1 to the rest of the world, modems, bits and pieces, and a UPS to keep us running through Philly's infamous brownouts and blackouts.

Here are the consoles where we like to do at least some of the administrative stuff we need to do. In the center is Stimpy, another big crappy TEK X-term donated to us by the University of Pennsylvania (via their dumpsters!)
